I’m still waiting for my name to make a comeback on the Baby Name charts. I used to be a good little Corporate American, albeit one with a slight attitude problem. My relationship with work was obsessive and all consuming.
The things I loved to do – brand strategy, communications, creative ideation and workshop facilitation – lost their spark when I was exclusively serving clients who failed to inspire affinity or share my values. The past few years have seen a meteoric rise of people like me opting out: pursuing entrepreneurship, freelancing, and new business models.
Working with this audience allowed me to recapture the passion I misplaced along the way. Traditional Agency and Consulting Models have excluded many people. It’s not just a matter of size and budget. BIPOC, non-binary folk, and women struggle for access and to be taken seriously without codeswitching or making themselves smaller.
I launched Clew Communications to provide top-notch creative strategies to anyone committed to challenging the status quo.
